If a doctor couldn't help you i doubt you would get much better medical advice on a webmaster forum.

Switch off your computer(s).

Take a Break for a day or 2.

and when you sit down in front of the pc, take a break every 30 mins and after every 2 hrs, take a break for 15 mins and stare at something in a distance and take a walk

simple and easy

I used to work on computers 5.30am till 10 at night and this went on for months. It has lead to severe migraines. Have you tried getting a filter for your screen, silly question maybe? Also you are suppose to have regular breaks as well, not just for your posture but your eyes. How close do you sit to the screen, look at things like this, all that needs to be taken into account.

I hope this has helped.

Take care, your eyes mean a lot.

Hello,

I'm not a Dr. but maybe I can shed some light and help someone here?

Try this and see if it does not help.

1. Every couple of mins look away from you PC and focus on things at differnt distances from you. This prevents eye strain which also causes those head aches and other things. You see, your eye is not used to staying focused on one depth for long periods of time.

2. If your working with text items, enlarge the text if your going to be working with them for a long period of time.

3. Cold towel over your eyes, in a dark room helps migraines....lol.

In all seriousnes, I hope that this helps in some way. Thank you and God bless.

For both of you guys with eye strain.

Make sure your monitor is set at the highest possible refresh rate!

Due to a system upgrade mine got reset from 100h to 85h. Six hours on the computer today and my eyes didn't work and I had a doozy of a headache. I never experience this before unless I worked 10-12 hours.

The other advice about breaks and looking away is also important.

Starring at a computer screen for too long is definitely not good for your eyes.

I had 20/20 vision a few years ago but ever since I took a computer job and start spending hours on a computer, my vision has declined. I now have to wear glasses. I am pretty sure the computer has something to do with it. But what can I do??? I am addicted to it!!!

I used Workrave:
http://www.workrave.org/welcome/index.php
for a while to stave off the symptoms of RSI (solved eventually by replacing my mouse with a graphics tablet).

It runs a timer and then locks out your screen for a short break, with an occaisional long break. All the timings can be configured, and you can skip the breaks if you want to.

I am a gamer at heart. I can play online games like Everquest for hours... and in fact I have done this many times. I have to say it has ruined my eyesite. I have to wear reading glasses to see anything upclose, and I really need to get my eyes checked. lol... of course it could be that I passed the dreadful age of 40, at which my mother always told me my body would start to fall apart. lol... maybe she was right!

I played Civ 3 for around 12 hours straight several times. My eyes were watering at the end of it.

Normally I take a break ever 30-45 minutes. I normally stand by my bedroom window for a couple of minutes then go back to my computer.
