and decided to learn php. wow am I behind...

everything is going well though. I coded up my own forums in my 1st 3 days of learning PHP

I might actually distribute this if I patch up all the potential exploits. So far though, it seems bulletproof!

So anyone else achieved any goals lately?

I'm always learning php, I consider myself a n00b.

I'm proud of the stuff I've created so far.

Hopefully in the near future I will be able to code my own forums

yeah its quite easy actually. I just got creative and used all that I learned from tizag in my 2 days to start the forum.

Anything I didn't know I used php.net to fill in the blanks. And of course using WT Search to find old threads helps out a million

PHP is dreadfully easy. Once you've picked it up, the challenge is no longer learning the language, it's learning how to program. By this I mean program design, patterns, efficiency etc.

I think most people can learn any programming language and make it do what they want. The challenge is making a good program

Coding your own projects is definitely a good way to learn, and in 3 days -- good job

Take a look at your forum now, and see how you could improve the design (code-wise, not visually). For example, look into some database abstraction or add internationalization to it.

I have a background in c++, so php came really easy for me
