Was it not his mates hard work that he simply adopted renamed and claimed his own. or was it not several of them for that matter.

And if you wanna put MS DOS on par with bash or csh or zsh then I would suggest the use of genious be re-associated with wannabe genius.

Sure things have fallen into place and its not through luck. Bill and his high paid marketing strategists etc have landed themselves in court more time than me through their insesant quest to monopolise on the computer market.

Add to this that Bill dropped outa school during the golden era of computers and you will soon realise that 20 to 30 years back you could have acheived exactly the same thing.

Ruthlessness and ambition is all it took him (oh and obviously other folks projects and ideas).

This is the origin of Bill been evil.

As i mention plenty of times. What a rubbish industry computing would be if everything had a windows sticker on it.

I disagree.
Microsoft bought computing to the mainstream non-tech user base. They did this through making sure their software was easy to interact with from the User's point of view. People have always had a choice, and they chose Microsoft. The business world is run by manages, and managers want to see results. Yes, other alternative software may be more technological advanced than Microsofts, but people who can produce results quickly wit this type of software are few and far between.

Microsoft software does have it's downfalls, but at the end of the day, it does what it's supposed to do with minimal fuss. And that's what users want, not 600 different cryptic ways to search a text document.

Never said it did not, but at least with 600 options I am going to find one that works with no backdoors or any other supprises up its sleave.

My Genius wannbe stands! (after all it took NIX guys to take his product to the next level)
