Hi,

Okay y'all, I'm ignorant about this stuff; hopefully this is a simple question. I'm trying to put a website online using "My FTP Places". but I have no idea about which port I should use. How does one find out this info.? Thanks for your time.

You connect to an FTP server on port 21, But all web servers run out of port 80.

While these are the standard ports that will be used by the vast majority of servers, it will work on any port as long as the server and client know whats happening and where everything is.

Thanks, Stox. I am having a really hard time trying to figure out all of this on my own; I already have other questions, but I'll save them for tomorrow (if I can't figure out everything after a few more hours of researching).
