I have just recently came accross domain names like: www-domainname.com

Where can you register domain names with out the dot after "www"

Does anyone know?

you can register it at any domain registrar.
The - symbol is allowed in a domain, It's not replacing the dot..

No I think you are wrong. For example type into google:
www-affiliateclassroom.com or www-successuniversity.com

You will notice that those domain names do not have the "dot" after "www"
They are just like they are written www-domainname.com

I want to know how I can do this too

its just a dash in a domain name.
like this-is-my-domain.com this-domain.com, It just has a www- in the domain name.

look http://www.www-affiliateclassroom.com/

Oh I did not notice it. Thanks. How did they get Google to index their
domain name with out the www.

Google spider all domains and subdomains they find. Most people impliment a 301 redirect to send bots to either the www or non www version.

Technically a www url is a subdomain.
