Hey Minaki -- I understand what you mean. It is much more enjoyable to focus on the creative process of photography when the ability of the equipment is a non-factor. I have been spending a fair amount of money on assembling a decent camera bag over the past year -- Canon 30D, a couple of "L" lenses, speedlights, filters, a quality tripod, etc.
As for the shutter lag problem you mentioned, it is almost a non-issue on the digital SLRs -- it used to be, but practically all of them now have almost indetectable delays.
