Hi. ... I recently added a guestbook to site and noticed many vists from people who advertised the same product by using the guestbook homepage feature. Hmmmm... comments were left in textarea but all were basically the same, email addresses are fake and no location on guestbook applied. How can I turn this from a negative into a positive? if that is possible. Any suggestions, will be greatly appreciated.

We've discussed this in the past and it may be a good way to get your link on other sites. However, there seems to be an ethics question if all you do is visit guestbooks to post your links. If you visit, make a comment or two about the site, and leave your own link, then that seems cool.

Now if it's your guestbook and people are abusing it, delete their entries. There are people that only search for guestbooks and leave their links. There's also those that now search for chatboxes (or whatever names they have) and leave spam links. That makes me want to really visit their site! [/sarcasm]

Depending on the guestbook you're using, you might also be able to put a filter on there for it to look for "http://" or "www" or ".com", etc. and have it replace those words with a word of your choice.
