ok here the problem i got ive got a thinkpad 600 laptop i had a rom drive in it i sold that on ebay and got a new cd/dvd drive it was working fine but now all of a sudden it wont read any disk at all it wont burn anythink basically i cant use it at all is there anythink i can do to fix this any idears

Be prepared to accept that you may have bought a duff cd/dvd drive, bud.
Otherwise, try taking it out and installing it again. You may have slipped a connection somewhere, so its worth a try.

Check the system properties to see if the ROM drive is being detected. If you have a question mark by it, unistall it and install it again. Also check IBM web site to see if there are any updated drivers. What O/S are you using?
