How does it work now?
You get an idea, raise some capital, hire a team of programmers and launch a hit new web app/site?
It sounds easy in theory, but what is the actual process?

The most of work is promoting it successfully. That is not easy.

I have a feeling that most people with websites don't raise capital or have a team of programmers, but for a commercial site that seems about right.

Only kidding, it depends on how big the idea is.

I would look around rof people doing/seling the same and take it from there

From classes ive taken about entrepreneurship theres a lot to do between having an idea and thinking about raising/gaining capital. The majority of ideas people come up with aren't feasible or in fact, very good once thought about in detail and considered in real world situation.

Maybe with the idea you are relating this to this process has already been undertaken but its worth spending a lot of time on both so you dont waste your own time creating something that is, in effect, useless but also to use in convincing financial backers that your idea is unique, profitable and worth persuing.

So yea, market research is a huge process to undertake before you even think about looking for investors.

Alot of the idea is getting people to do different parts of the idea
Next is promoting it which is the hardest part

I think you have the process right but you might want to start with a plan, brainstorming, figuring out what would work best for you and how to do it....

Perhaps even get some public input or atleast from some family and friends...
