An Indian company called seagullsoftwares Pvt Ltd ( http://www.seagullsoftwares.com/ )cheated 20,000 Sri Lankans yesterday and left the country. They claimed that they are a technology outsourcing company. If they invest 6,500, they promised to pay Rs.60, 000 within 15 months. Over 20,000 Sri Lankans invested. Some invested millions.

Proof:

Yesterday the owner of the company (an Indian) has closed all his bank accounts at the Nations Trust Bank. No one knows what happened until they left the country.

Now a new company called seagullmembers.com( http://www.seagullmembers.com/ ) has started collecting the personal information of Sri Lankans. They don’t have a privacy policy or any disclaimer in there site. They don’t have any information about there company. No information about why they collect this information. They only have 2 pages in here site.

I don’t want them to cheat Sri Lankans again.

Most of the Sri Lankans don’t know much about online privacy. I’m sure that most of them will send their personal information to them.

Who should I contact? Please help me.

let's just all be careful with our everyday business deals. although there are times when it's really hard to tell the real from scam.

Excellent way to tell a scam:

IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT PROBABLY IS!

It sounds like these people were duped because they tried to rationalize a decision that must have had warning signs going off in their heads.

Next time they will be more careful. I just hope they had the sense to "invest" money they could afford to lose. If not, the joke is on them!

Good luck.
