I would suggest starting with something you're interested in, or even know a little (to a lot) bit about.

I wouldn't want to start an internet business on honey bees if I didn't even like honey. Just an example!

Visiting webmaster forums is a good start. Read about the issues the people who actually run internet businesses face. Read up on material provided by organizations that help small businesses (score.org I believe is one). Internet businesses need to be run just like regular businesses - lots of time and effort. howbizworks.com has some decent articles as well.

I think web businesses come from one's own interests and ideas; if you find a site which says, "here are some web business ideas" you can be certain that there a hundreds of people who've taken those ideas and set up businesses so the competition will be that much greater.

No, do what we do, use the internet till you find something you CAN'T do with it or something which doesn't work right and then make your site to improve on that.

1. Decide first what you going to sell, how you going to sell it and to whom you going to sell it too.
2. Choose a domain name and register it.
3. Host your domain name.
4. Design your webpage to sell your products and services.
5. Submit to search engines, pay per click and traffic exchanges.
6. Market and Promote your website by different techniques.
7. Write newsletters and articles to advertise your website.

That is a huge question. there are so many sub-industries online that you really need to be a little more specific. Good luckwith whatever you chose to do.
