Here are a couple of questions for everyone. How long have you been on the net and what was the first website you ever saw...if you can remember?

I got my internet connection in 1994 and I remember the first website I ever saw was actually a month before that at a local government office. And it was http://www.whitehouse.gov/.

Could have been a different URL back then but I remember how awesome is was and I knew I just had to have the internet.

anyways. im 14 so it was a case of getting my first pc when i was...about 7, but it was so crap i cant remember the specs... and no net.

i then got a hp unit when i was about 10 with dial up and got bband in augish last year.

and no i cant remember what site i first saw, at a guess hp or microsoft. (new pc updateing drivers etc.

dan...

Hmm Trying to remember, I think it was back in 1994 on dial up & the 1st page I saw without a doubt was the MSN one. I remember sitting there thinking ok I have this wonderful thing called the internet but what do I do?? I didn't even know what I wanted it for but we got it cause everyone told us how wonderful it was.

i was on my uncles computer
everyone in my school used to go onto
www.neopets.com
so that was my first site

i was about 10 years old then

Signed up to be online in 1991 and I believe the first website was Netscapes that I accessed.

Some of us were online before you were born.

Not the internet as we know it know, but online.

Have been on the internet since the start of Freeserve(now progressed through Wanadoo to Orange) about 1997/1998.
In those days Freeserve was a dial up service and yes it was free, including phone costs, all you needed was a BT phone line.(For our US friends that was the then National phone provider)
The first web page I saw was the sign up page for the Freeserve service.
Like Mystic Rose says above I really didn't know what to do with this wonderful new toy. It will never be like that again.
In the near future, if not already, I can envisage that if you are not connected you will be a second class citizen.

i know, this is probally really sad but u know im like if i had a time machine i would do back 100's of years i would go back to like 1985 and look at the beggining of the ineternet. just to see what it was like.

lol i love looking at website with internet exlorer3 they look so basic lmao!

sometime between '92 & '94. The first intranet page was 1995 when I was working for the NYS Attorney General's office and they had one. I know I was online before then, but not sure how much before. The first webpage I saw --- probably netscape.

Yeh i have been online since 1999... i remember my first computer... oh it was crap... and the modem to connect up to the internet was like £200. (actually found the receipt the other day whilst clearing out attic)...

when i was in primary school i used to come home and go on msn straight away and i remember that nobody else had it or even heard of it.. so i ende dup having a bunch of kids i didnt know on it... n then the whole neopets site took off and i went on there playing games... making all me neopoints

those were the days... and then about a year ago i went bk onto neopets... made a few million points from playing games all day (thats how sad i am)... n then people i knew from like ebay started offering and buying all my neopoints... it was great... made a good few quid out of it...

lol, i think like the first computer i had with modem was like second hand lol, someone my mum knew online he thought he had basically mucked up the computer so he brought a new one, and when my mum went there he said she could have it, and she sat there and had it workin and he was like ****, and she found out all the sites he ahd visited lmao anyway i ended up with this (now) crappy pc prob 95 lol and a block for the modem.

and now it all Broad band1

I think it was 19992-1993 for me. I used the dial up prodigy service. At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but the internet got slightly better as time went on.
