Seems like a simple answer: UP! Like the ol' saying, the sky's the limit.
Another question: What's the lowest price that you ever remember?
I worked in Germany for awhile. I went to the gas station to figure out how the prices compared with back home in the states. So, did the calculations to change the DM to the USD and they were close. Then the man at the station told me that was for a liter, not a gallon. Wow!

I remember a quarter for a gallon. I think that's when I started buying gas so I could make money mowing lawns. Back in those days, I'd get around $20 for an acre lot.
Memories..........

I know most non-U.S. people here think we complain about our gas prices, and we do, but much of our cost of living more than makes up for our lower gas prices. Now if you add high gas prices to our high cost of living, it severely affects our economy. So you can understand why we pampered Americans are complaining!

Well americans love SUV's that guzzle gas and that then increases the demand and as demand goes up so do prices. Unless this changes the prices will go higher and higher for everyone.
I think i'll buy a Prius

I agree 100%. But I wouldn't say all Americans love SUV's. There are too many people driving them, that’s for sure. It's always some little women who shouldn't have a license for a moped much less a monstrosity of that size. I personally drive a little BMW 3 series. I last 10 days between fill ups. 99% of SUV owners don't need them but it’s become this upper-middle class fad with some of these stay at home moms.

Hey, I might be in that 1%. But, I sold my 4x4 truck and don't have it anymore. I know it's true that most people that have SUV's probably don't need them. Or they need them once a year when a little snow falls. LoL! However, SUV's are not the only gas hogs. And all SUV's are not monsters. According to most of the insurance companies, if it is 4 wheel drive, then it's a SUV and there are lots of little ones out there (Subaru for example).
Days between fill-ups is not necessarily a good measure. I have a Custom Tiara Van that I only fill up once a month (because I don't drive it often). It gets 15 mpg.
I do like gas-efficient cars, but I refuse to own another mini. And I do fit in the category of loving the SUV's. I want my next one to be a Hummer (now that's a monster), but my hunni wants the Envoy.
BTW, do you remember the system that was designed to get greater gas mileage like 100 mpg?

Well.. the rising cost of fuel.. does effect the transportation industry in a huge way.. Hubby Stephen & his family are in the transportation industry (R & R transportation) out of Joplin, Missouri.. with about 300+ freightliners.. and each truck gets about 7miles to the gallon.. and so the cost of fuel DOES have a big impact on the transportation industry.. Although the freight business continues to be strong/healthy.. with the fuel prices rising.. it hurts..
I look for an explaination / and or / comfort from our government officials in the near future, concerning the rising cost of fuel.

cost of living eh? still, you should come to England for a little while riddler. My girlfriend has been here for two months and she has to go back in 2 weeks time. She is Japanese and I've heard Americans/Canadians say that Japan is expensive. She tells me it's really expensive here. She had roughly £6000GBP's 2 months ago, and now has only £250 (and she is reasonably low maintenance too!).
trust me, don't come to England, unless you like rain, cold, cloudy skies and HIGH PRICES!!!

I've been to England, but I never drove while I was there. But I was always told that it was very expensive, and a friend there does not drive because of the prices.
What is the cost where everyone lives? Here, it is $1.68 per gallon (USD).

Here it's about 76p-80p per litre. (leaded) That's nearly what you're paying per gallon DaveMo~
Your friend is right. I don't drive for that reason (as well as others)

Since 1 U.S. gallon = 3.7854118 liters, and there's approximately 1.827 GPB to the USD, that would make it equivalent to USD $5.26 per gallon. I think I did that right.
No wonder my friend and Wenslock, don't drive. That really puts a new perspective on it for me.
I paid $1.84 per gallon today. Cheap compared to the UK.
What are some more prices?
