Many feel that divorce rate higher for Internet Savvy people with following valid reasons

1) Chat rooms and sites which reunite friends make it easier for unhappy husbands or wives to meet other people and possibly go on to have an affair.
2) They work long hours (even at home) without giving enough time for family affairs.

What is opinion about it? Do you think it can be true?

Both can be true, but not without there being problems in the marriage to begin with, a happy marriage takes work from both parties to remain successfully stable and loving.

I don't think it's nfair to blame internet chat rooms or working longer hours for an eventual divorce. Each person in a marriage needs to make it a priority in their life and put the time into it to keep it strong. There have always been outside influences that can be detrimental to a marriage - if the parties involved allow them to be detrimental.

I agree. There have always been, and always will be, outside influences that both spouses will have to contend with. That's just life. Also, if a spouse wants to give into affairous activity, he or she would follow through whether the Internet existed or not.

Both statements are true -- glad I don't have either problem.

I always feel like I'm on the edge with #2.... it's _really_ hard to balance 3 kids, a full time career, a part-time teaching career, and about 12 web sites (and growing).

But I'm slowly finding my groove, and am getting better at it.

No, that's not what I meant. If you are spending a lot of time in front of the computer there is usually a reason you are not spending the time with your spouse. My hubby will occassionally get upset that I am on my computer too much and when he does, he already knows I'm upset with him for something. Because we have been married for 16 years and our marriage is important to both of us we both make an effort to make the other happy when an argument starts. If neither one of us does anything to make up with each other and our marriage disinegrates, that is our fault, not my computer's fault or whatever reason I'm mad at him.

Divorce happens because one or both parties stop caring enough to work for it. Marriage is not a fairytale, self-sustaining relationship. Both parties have to continually love each other enough to make their spouse a priority in their life and not let outside influences interfere.
