Hey, a big hello to the old guys from way back when -- DaveMo, Chroder, Praveen and somewhere out there is Prissed... I lurk quite a bit here these days but thought I would drop a thread to compliment you on the new design. (Not sure about those ads, but I understand that someone has to pay the bills.)

WT was started in early 2004.

I have come here off and on for a while, but haven't been a big poster, but who knows? Maybe that will change one day.

Hey, the old crew is all here!

Praveen, you are looking well. I trust you are thriving. I checked out webmasters-cavern -- very cool. How is that going for you? I hope that crazy woman with the house falling down and every known disease known to man hasn't shown back up. I need not ask if you remember her -- I know you do. Crazy.

Republikin, wow, it's been so long -- it's great to see you. I think you had a baby while we were moderating -- a little girl, right? (sorry if it's a boy, I'm working off memory vapors here). How's she doing?

Chroder -- the boards look great -- there seem to have been a LOT of upgrades - I know who to thank for that (largely).

Kandi -- it's always hard to forget you -- I have always loved your user name. I'm not sure what specific discussions you're referring to, but I've been accused of being to passionate and absolutist. I hope whatever impressions I left you with were good ones.... (somewhere out there, there's a lady who really hates me -- ask Praveen).

Hey Tim, you also had a baby the last time I was around. I trust you are enjoying fatherhood and married life. Congratulations again on how well WT has developed and also persisted through the years... it has been a great resource for so many people (and still growing).

Vangogh -- yea, I definitely remember you. You were still pretty new as I retired from moderating -- from all accounts you are doing a great job -- I hope you are enjoying perks and responsibilities equally.

So what have I been doing? I changed companies and became an executive for a year or two. Didn't like that, so I'm back to being a regular software engineer. I am a full-time Dad (you remain a Dad while at work) and we do a lot with the family. On my own time, I do a lot of photography, which has turned into a bit of a hobby/business for me. (People actually pay me from time to time -- amazing!) I volunteer at the battlefield whenever I can. But mostly I am just enjoying life...

I hope you guys are doing the same.

I'm glad you love my username - I've always thought it was pretty unimaginative of me to choose it (my initials and DOB).

Actually we had quite a few lively debates where (mostly) you & I were on the same side.
Oh, and the lady who really hates you - I'm pretty sure I know which one you are referring to. I was pretty new at the time, she was very one track on her cause, which was pretty difficult to believe, you called her on it (I think the thread ended up being closed and she disappeared shortly thereafter.).........that one????

Oh yea, so you remember it correctly. It was the lady running thread after thread of "woe is me." I wasn't looking to be unsympathetic, but it was the wrong topic in the wrong place... anyway. I hope you never run into anything like that during your moderating... I hope you are enjoying it. It's a great job and Dave and Chroder make it enjoyable. Praveen is a very good ally.

Kyrnt, glad to see you're still around. I was kinda' hoping that you were ready to give up daylight again and be on the team! I've missed you and missed Dave. One thing that we've been exceptionally fortunate with at WT has been the Mod team! I can't remember losing one because of problems on the forum. Ah, I'm going down memory lane now!

And the woe threads is gone, but not forgotten (you know they have soft-deletes now).

LoL @ Tim! Tim was here at his own start in 2002; me, too!

Anyway, keep coming back!

Kandi was nice enough to find the thread for me. It was very familiar to me too, but for some reason I don't think I read it here. I think I saw the same woman having an equally strange conversation on another forum somewhere.

I have to do a little searching to see if I can find it.
