I downloaded something and now this dirty, rotten, disgusting company called arcadejoy.com keeps posting full-page advertisements on my computer screen. Most of the time the computer will say: QDOJ.exe (or some other combination of letters) is attempting to connect to a DNS server.
I alway check the box that says to not allow this, but it connects anyway. The top of the screen will say --Web Page Dialog. As I'm typing this, if I close everything out, that rotten company arcadejoy.com's ad is waiting on me. How can I stop it? I have SpyBot and Norton Anti-virus.
Thanks for any and all help!

If they don't work I would see an expert

Thanks

The best place that I found to help one solve these kind of infections is over at the CastleCops forums.

Download HighJackThis and post the results in their forums and they'll guide you along.

Good luck with it.

I downloaded a program to download videos from YouTube and and downloaded a program to play the videos. None of this happened before then. I uninstalled and deleted the downloads, but it doesn't help.

Thanks for the information. I'll go over to CastleCops. This arcadejoy.com is such a filthy, dirty, rotten, low-down scum of the earth. Sorry about the way I feel, but I'm fed up with it. It's driving me crazy!!!!

If you are using IE, disable all browser addons. Post back if you need info on how to do that.

There really ought to be a strong law about this crapware.

I do Microsoft internet explorer. How do I get rid of the browser add-ons? As I lower this page, I see that stinking arcadejoy.com "free" online flash games ad looking at me. I made a mistake in downloading a flash video player. I hope these people burn in hell for the aggravation they have cause me.

It's great that you found the exe name(QDOJ.exe).
Start the computer in safe mode(when it shows the first screen press f8) and remove the internet.
Now search your pc for the filename and don'r forget to add hidden filename search option. If you find it delete it. Also keep a spam blocker. I use nod32 antivirus, and it blocks spams very well also.

Sometimes when the computer automatically connects to their website, it says: QDOJ.exe (or some other 4 letters, different each time) is attempting to connect to a DNS server. Then asks if I want to allow it. I always say no. It connects anyway. I go to search and type in QDOJ.exe and then click on it. There about 50 .exe along with QDOJ. Such as NQLT.exe, DALT.exe,TRKM.exe and on and on. I deleted them all. It didn't help. Each time it connects, it uses a different set of four letters. I have never been to arcadejoy.com in my life and never will go there.

I searched at google and could not find any spam information about arcadejoy.com
The only thing I could suggest you is to install a good antispam software and run it in Safe mode.

browser-addons
To disable unwanted browser items;
Click on tools
Click on programs tab
Click on manage addons
Click on any program name in the list to enable/disable
Click on apply or ok as needed to save the changes.
You may need to close and open IE or even reboot.

Also I ran across a super program at another forum.
The name is auto run and you can get it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sys.../Autoruns.mspx

Microsoft now owns this and it can be downloaded from their site. It will allow you to turn off or even delete items in the start folder. So this lets you get rid of the addons after you turn them off.

This is far easier to use that msconfig and checking items in the startup group. It does not install to the system so unzip it where you can find it and click on the icon to start it.
For ease of use I placed it it at c:/autorun/

I actually found several pieces of crapware that were still in the registry even though I had removed the files.

If you are new at this I suggest you disable stuff for a few days BEFORE you delete.

Another vote for HijackThis! from this side.

That, and you may want to run Ad-Aware. That thing catches 99.9% of crap out there.

If that doesn't work, sometimes a decent AV program will catch any Trojan horses that may be a root cause. Check AVG Free out for that. It rocks the party that rocks the body, and it's legit free.
