1) Why do we have to leave the copyright notice of VB company on our forum eventhough we paid for the license? and why do they have power to tell our host to take our website down if we deleted their copyright notice?
do webhosting company obey VB laws?

2) Why do we (admins/owners of a forum) get sue by havin infringement of contents in our forum posted by our members? onwers should ignore it?

Well when you finish your own forum software system you can let people use it without a copyright notice. But since you're using something you don't own, you're required by law to obey the terms of the license, and one of those terms is the license you agreed to is carrying the copyright notice. Paying for the license is only part of the deal, that would be like me saying "Why can't I just take somebody else's car? I learned to drive a standard!"

The company who owns the intellectual property you bought a license to use can have your site shut down if you violate the terms of their license because it's their property.

You can be sued ( and loose ) for copyright infringement of your users because you carry and republish the infringement. You're the one taking in the cash, you assume liability because of that. They come together as a pair.

You don't have to like it, but that's the way it works.

basically henryforum, if the agreement says it, you must obey it.
if VB had put a line there saying you can only use the purchased software during the weekends and you signed it, well, you'll use it during the weekends otherwise you violate the agreement. there are no standard license agreements. every company that sells a product can pretty much demand anything, it's the consumers that have to check it and agree to it. i think i overreacted a tiny bit, but i hope you get the point.

basically it's like owning a radio station. if the news reporter says something wrong it's the station that gets sued and then it's the station that sanctions the reporter. at least where i live :P

And I believe vB allows you to remove the copyright if you pay them a "small" fee. Not sure about the second one because I always thought the forum administration is not responsible for whatever content their members post. This is what is in the terms and conditions you agree to when you register for this forum.
