I have just done an update, uploaded from the microsoft web site, what I was told to be an upgrade to 'internet explorer 7'.

However, once it was done, I looked at the desktop icon, and noticed the mozilla firefox icon in its place, thow, the text below it says 'internet'

This is in addtion to the other mozilla firefox icon for a mozilla firefox upload I got ages ago.

Has anyone went and got the internet explorer 7 upgrade, only to get mozilla firefox?

Internet EXPLODER is NOT Firefox ...

Are you sure the icon wasn't in your start menu? It sounds like it was and that FF is now your default browser somehow.

The best thing you can do is find iexplore.exe, open it directly, see if it is the default browser and go from there.

I already had Firefox, and the desk top already had a shortcut link to firefox.

Before today, the desk top also had an Internet Explorer shortcut link located in the next colum over from the Firefox one.

And it was this IE one of which became a firefox link, and thus I had two firefox links, except the one of which was IE, it had the word 'internet' along the bottom.

However, I have fixed this problem, I deleted the shortcut, and went into the start menu where a nice new IE symbool was located, and created a desktop shortcut form that.
