What do you guys think about a flash forum for flash coders? I mean it is a code afterall, just like php or html, execpt it is Dynamic Content. Post your ideas and rate on a poll!

No; flash is a thing of the past and most site visitors leave flash sites within 5 seconds.

ok, but it depends. if you have a completely flash filled website then it can get a little annoying, but if you just use it a little people tend to like it some times.

oh and its not that old, is it?

Don't quote me on this, but if my old memory serves me well, it seems Flash made it's debut in late 2004 -- keep in mind, flash isn't indexed by the SE's ... you'll do far better using today's techniques of HTML & CSS.

Personally I wouldn't spend a lot of time in a Flash forum, but I think it's a good idea. There are some good uses of Flash and maybe a forum devoted to it would help improve some of the Flash applications and developers out there.

I've seen it mentioned here often enough that I think there would be interest in it.

I agree that full Flash sites aren't the best idea, though sometimes I think that has more to do with Flash developers than Flash itself. If search engine traffic is important to you then Flash is probably not the way for your site, but not everyone wants or needs search traffic.

And I have come across some really good Flash applications that might only be one page of a site. Might be a good idea to have some good discussions about how to do Flash right.

Yeah, this does sound like a good idea, although I tend not to like Flash, just like Travel Agent. It's hard to say whether it's Flash itself, or that people just tend to use it in annoying ways. In either case, I don't like. But I'm sure enough people do that it might be nice for them to have their own place to congregate.

Neither did I. Maybe a link from the coding forums to that one would be a good idea? I've never done anything in Flash, but it sounds like people think of it in the writing code sense...

I still think it would be a good idea to ahve a forum under coding for AS (action script) which is used in flash, so it divided the scripting for flash and the Graphics if you know what i mean. from what i know there is more to flash than animation.

Yeah, but thats for like flash creation and animation, not for implimenting it in to an actual webpage like http://nike.com/ or some other webpage.

I guess the forum is about whatever people post about. If they post about implimenting it into an actual webpage it could be about that too.

I would agree with Stox, it doesn't have to be just about the graphical creation of Flash. I've answered a few AS related questions there.
