What I know about my website I have figured out for myself or by asking others. It has taken me a long time to get not very far and the main reason is that the talk amongst those who do know what they are doing is very hard to follow. I joined two other webmaster sites before I found this one and left because I couldn't persuade people to explain issues in plain language.

I've seen one or two posts on this site where people have asked for advice and been told, 'Google it' - yes, there is a lot of material out there but a lot of it is very hard to understand. Please be patient and try to answer basic questions simply, on site. If someone hasn't used a tutorial that is easy to find on google it's probably because the language there was difficult for them.

What you saw is a fairly atypical example. WT has a long reputation of having very helpful folks. If you ask any of the people who have been here for some time -- I think you will find that to be true. While the mods & admins can't control the behavior of every member on every board, they do encourage an environment conducive to members helping others' solve their problems.

That's not to say there aren't a few bad apples -- there always are, unfortunately.
