Hi,

I am looking for -- preferably open source -- WordPress alternates. It is should be a content management system ("CMS") for a blog.

My problem with WordPress is that I cannot write multiple columns, and I cannot fake it with using categories either.

Anyways... Does anyone know about any good alternates? Name, link, and a short description would be appreciated.

There might be a way to do it if you're really creative.

Use the Excerpt field for your second column and hack WordPress.

Joomla? Seems to be the most popular open source platform. Or PHP-Nuke?

I think Textpattern can do the job. Seems it can combine a CMS and blog together on the same page.

Webplace, could you give me an example of Textpattern displaying multiple article lists (different "columns"/categories)?

You could try something a tad more advanced like e107 or PHP Fusion
