I try to read a lot, and expose myself to new ideas. Sometimes they can indirectly find their way to inspiring something good to write about. Anything you can read on the human condition, psychology, evolution, and things like that is a great source of inspiration.
How-to articles are a pretty easy topic to fall back on. If you code for beer, I'm sure you can explain the inner workings of a computer, make multi-core computing understandable to the masses, or share useful algorithms. Maybe with a screen shot to take up some real estate.
Also, not all content is text. If you're having writer's block, head out for a nice hike with your digital camera. Then write a page around the experience. You can even drum up some traffic this way, by submitting the image ( w/ a link ) to digital photography sites. It will be "untargetted" traffic, less likely to buy what you're selling, maybe ad-blind, but on the bright side, it will be mostly people who haven't seen your site before.
