What don't you listen too?

I was just going through my music making up a playlist and I realized that I really enjoy a singer that many of my friends would probably laugh at me for listening too. It dawned on me that all of us probably have some music that we usually keep to ourselves, whether it touches our hearts or makes us want to dance (alone, in the dark, where no one could possibly see), the odds are you would rarely let anyone know that you listen to that music.
With all that said, if your brave enough, what is your secret pleasure? (keep that question in context). Mine is Fiona Apple, I find her music to be beautiful and heart felt, kind of rare in todays music market. To give it some context I would usually listen to Pink Floyd, Guns & Roses, Rage Against the Machine, Evanesence and Linkin Park.

Fiona Apple is a top artist. I really like her style.
I'd say my favorites musical artists would be:
*) Tori Amos
*) George Benson
*) Faithless
*) Moloko
*) A few good mens (A (Funky !) Swiss group )
*) Shalamar
*) Delegation
*) Heart Wind & Fire
*) Jamiroquai
*) Korn
*) Rammstein
*) Karajan directing Mozart (The requiem gives me shivers...)
But you could add "bomb The bass", muse, the propellerheads, Sinead O'connor, Urban species, The sugar hill gang...
Well, pretty much any styles ...
And with that, add a bunch of somafm radios ( http://www.somafm.com), and epiphany radio ( http://www.epiphanyradio.org/) for finding new and original stuff.
Hooray for diversity !!!

I don't really have a guilty pleasure as far as music goes. The weird thing about my musical tastes is that each of my friends shares some of the tastes, but no one shares all of them.
I guess the closest I would come to that would be Jack Johnson, just because I like that Curious George song.

I guess mine would be Gogol Bordello, not so much because it's a guilty pleasure, but because nobody's ever heard of the guy.

Radiohead are my favourites, although my musical taste is pretty diverse.
Variety being the spice of life and all that.
But I recently stumbled across this band, of Montreal. I'm in love.

I think everyone misunderstood this post. The point was to say what artist you listen to that doesn't really fit with the majority of music you listen to. Or which artist your friends might look at you ****-eyed if they found out you listened to them.

well, try to mix rammstein, hearth wind & fire and mozart on 1 cd, and to give that to them.
Last time, going from mozart to rammstein made quite an impression in my office desk :-D

hmmm, probably jazz, I really like jazz, no one in particular, just jazz. I don't know anyone else who does, and my friends did look at me weird when I suggested a pub that has a good jazz live band...
I usually listen to conscious hip-hop and alternative rock. Some of the hip-hop is a bit jazzy, but not that much

A great deal of hip-hop is meant to be inspiring and uplifting. A lot of people would make the distinction that "rap" is the garbage that gets played on the radio, while "hip hop" is conscious rap. It's generally political, in the sense that people are the real issue, and need to understand how we fit into the political scene ... think globally, act locally. But it tends to promote education and understanding of the way you interact with the world over voting for any particular candidate.
From another member of this forum's blog, here are lyrics from a conscious hip hop album called Edutainment, by Boogie Down Productions: History can never be made by one man, we must smash this one quickly
History is made only by the masses of the people, this is clear
Even a, cursory glance at the falasfallacious presentation
of history by the American capitalist system, will demonstrate just this
Take George Washington, as bad as he is
Put him in the middle of Valley Forge, by himself, surrounded
by the British, he can do nothing
*laughter and applause*
Take Martin Luther King as righteous as he is
Put him in the middle of Birmingham by himself, speaking out against racism
He would be lynched
But you take this same King, you take this same Washington
Put them in Valley Forge, put them in Alabama
Surround them with thousands of people who have the same ideals they do
Willing to make those ideals reality and the situation changes drastically

Yeah, I was reading and thought the the answers were really not answers to the question asked.
Anyway, a long long time ago, in a land not that far away, when I was dating my Hunni, there was a guy that most people had not heard of and I would hardly ever admit to listening to. However, today, I wish I had those 8-tracks on CD so I could listen some more. He sang some of "our" songs.
***drumroll***

I have pretty diverse taste too - mostly hard rock (Puddle of Mudd, Linkin Park, Guns N Roses, Nickelback, etc) but there isn't much I don't listen too on occassion.
That being said, (I'm going to date myself) when I was a teenager I was informed by all of my friends that I could not like Duran Duran AND Ozzy.
Now, I rarely admit that I was a Duran Duran fan mostly because I don't have much patience left that style of music.
