I didn’t know this until just a few minutes ago, but thanks to the wonders of forum private message spam, I can now become a Demi God or Creator! A user named “Vasity” on Webmaster-Talk has decided to tell me about a wonderful new site that he’s a “member” of.
Let’s see here. We have a “new member” to a forum looking for people to check out a “brand new community”. And the “new member” is helping plug a site. As a new member, he should have no vested interest in doing so.
But like most spammers, our boy Vasity unzips his fly, undoes his button and drops his pants down around his ankles. In this post, he announces a contest whereby every user who comes up with 20 posts will be entered into a draw to win one of 5 domain names that look like someone mashed on their keyboard with an open palm shot and registered the result as a dotcom.
And would you look at that! The site that people are supposed to post to is…BGod.net! What a stunning development!
Of course, all of this pales in comparison to the short spurt of high comedy that the BGod.net forums provide. There’s a site with relatively little content, a skin that renders the text difficult if not almost impossible to read, and a slogan that I swear my nephew wrote:
