The man had a court date, and was arrested when he showed up. Authorities are saying he was responsible for anywhere between a million and ten billion spam emails a day, that his calling card was for the to and from address to both show as yours.
I don't have a URL, as I heard this on the radio. But anyone interested should have a pretty easy time on Google News.
My question is who actually buys anything from a spam email?
It must be at least slightly effective since its so prevalent. I'm almost positive if I sent out a billion emails asking for $10 at least 1 person would give it to me.
Fry?? Spam?? Let's try not to put these words together too often...this is the secret formula for making the worlds largest pimples (and the inspiration for a great Monty Python skit...)

Of course I woke up to three times as much spam as normal this morning.
Don't expect to see anything more than a short term decrease in spam. There are many others to fill the gap and this guy was supposedly not at the top of the spam chain anymore.
It would also depend on if you happened to be on his particular spam list. If you were you probably got less spam. If you weren't you probably saw no change or like me saw your spam triple as the other spammers thought it would be fun to send more to show the arrest will have no effect.
I think spam has doubled either since the beginning of the year or from the same time a year ago.

I think he should be tortured in an "annoying" way, like poking his toeas with a pin over and over again. One for each spam email he sent.
torture in an annoying way? I agree.. & what's the most annoying? SPAM!!! start a movement to send the entire internet's quarantined spam to a mailbox and his punishment would be to sit in his jail cell & sort through all of them to find the false positives. I'm sure there will still be enough spam for him to sort thru for an eternity, even without his help of adding to it.
Is it even illegal to send spam in the USA. I know it is a royal pain to get spam over flowing your email box but is it actually illegal to send spam in the USA. Spam is kinda of like junk mail in your mailbox but is it actually illegal?
