OK, heres whats happening.

I have a form on a website that is written in PHP. It is simple, and all it does is let the custoemr fill in their name, contact info, and thier message, and hit submit, and then it sends the message to me.

so few weeks ago, the form was hijacked by a spammer, which filled out all the fields with crap links and nonsense.

I am receiving about 50 of these emails a day now.

So a week ago, I took down the contact page, thinking it would stop, and I could put it back up later.

that didnt happen. the emails still come in at the same rate.

Anyone know a solution to this problem?

If the page you took down only had the form and, not the php processing code, then it is likely that this person is just sending post/get requests to the processing page directly, without the use of your form.

no, the page I took down was the form and the php processing code.

the submit button submitted the page to itself to process then redirected with a header.

Did you ever reply to this person, in any way shape or form, even clicking an unsubscribe link? This is about the only thing I can think of as to why your still receiving these emails. Either that or the spam was never actually connected to your form being up (I know, a long shot but I have to explore all possibilities).
