hi people,

this is my first post and i am in desperate need of some help here....

my site that i have been working on for years is gone and i need help....

my hosts server went down yesterday and they have fixed it , however my site is not working ...

it is mainly a forum i am running....

my host has told me to log back into control panel and recreate accounts and settings...

i have tryed this but my site is still gone and i cant get into the public_html thru ftp as it saying something about i dont have permission:

what steps do i need to take exactly to recreate accounts and settings??

i have tryed setting up a new ftp account but get teh same errors....

not hearing anything from my host is driving me insane..

any help most appreciated..

contact your host again and explain to them the problems you are having.

If they have had server problems they are probably recieving a lot of messages at the moment, So be patient.

thanks for the reply....

i have been emailing them all day but keep getting the same reply...

"you will need to login to cpanel to recreate accounts and settings."

ive asked them to elaborate but am getting no-where ....

what accounts and settings are they talking about?

in many sites they have a "forgot your password" link. if available, click on this link and follow the instructions to get your password emailed to you. In this way you establish if the system is even recognizing you at all. if you enter a username or email to get a password emailed to you and it says "this username [or email] is not in our system" you have verified that there is a serious problem with your account.

If email isn't doing the job - look for a customer service tel no and call in.
