UPDATE: Google distributes hacked newspaper site with anti-Israel/US message...

UPDATE: A reader points out that it looks like the Irish Medical Times newspaper was hacked and then picked up by Google. I had posted this hack from Google News with an anti-Israeli message and I asked how GOOG could stop other such incidents and guarantee the integrity of the content.
Google News is one of the world's most popular web sites and a trusted brand. This means it has a responsibility to its community if it is to retain the trusted brand relationship--which Google has managed to maintain despite its super-star status.
Since Google does not employ any human editors, (it is all harvested by machines) the hack hasn't been filtered from Google News.

K, I guess I can see this being somewhat relevant since this is the Google forum, although FYI we talk about the search engine in this forum, not about whether they have a responsibility to manage other peoples content.

Did you really need to put your entire message in bold?

What's this anti-Israel / anti-US drivel you're avoiding mention of? I know this is a shocker, but Israel and the United States are actually two different countries! Blows your mind, huh?

People really need to stop copying/pasting selective content out of context. Google is just distributing a news feed automatically...they don't control the content. They just published something that was hacked. The Irish Medical Times is ultimately responsible here.

I hate to say it, Adam, but you're completely wrong on this one. Just last night I went to Google, did a search for "porn" and it showed me porn. This burned my eyes out and I'm blinded for life now, so you bet I'll be suing Google for promoting their pornographic agenda and not filtering their bad content out.

Don't you know whenever something is unpopular, it's always Google's fault?

I bet you didn't even known it was Google behind 9/11.

By mentioning 9-11 The year when the United States had a Terror attack, you just call it up, like it's a joke.

You mean Bush's approval rating of 28 %, not Congress which scores 45 %, moron.

You really aren't in a position to criticize anything anybody says, seeing as how you have all the credibility and reputation of Jeffrey Dahmer. Okay, sorry to go personal. I should listen to my mom about if you don't have anything nice to say.

But I'm still really intrigued. Could the guy who posted this explain why Israel and the US are joined at the hip like Siamese Twins? I mean they're our ally and a vibrant democracy in a place that needs more of them, nobody is questioning that. But America's interests and Israel's interests aren't always the same. They're a completely different country, a sovereign nation, not the 51st state.

I think (and I'm no scholar on this subject) that the general feeling of the middle eastern world is that the Israel is pretty much the 51st state. About the only thing they don't get is federal aid (unless you count military aid as federal aid). I also think that everyone resents Israel so much because they know that if they attacked Israel, we would be there in a heartbeat, and us, they have a harder time fighting because of our military might.

Yeah, you're probably right. And, honestly, that's how it should be. I mean, the Palestinian people deserve their own state, but so do the Israelis. They have like 3% of the land in the Middle East, and Iran antagonizes them every chance they get. Israel is a healthy democracy, and even if Egypt and Iran are kinda sorta democracies, I think they're growing more into real ones over time, and our ally over there is probably a good influence overall.

I really shouldn't be going off on such a divisive issue, but the title of this thread just makes me wonder why everyone thinks the two countries are married.

So getting back on topic, Google is a search engine, they report what they find. It's really not their fault a newpaper in their index got hacked. That happens every now and then, and it's the hacker's fault.

Yes, but GOOG should be able to handle it quite quickly, one would think. Especially with all the compeition with Ads comming out of the wood work..I have found a different kind of add PAY PER ACTION and they are like way better pay then GOOG ads. =)

I may of skimmed over, or responded from the title..o_o Google (GOOG) which is there stock market letters hence, that is why I refer to the big G as GOOG. =) In the first place, I was just saying I would think Google wouldn't contionusly spread out (give out) a hacked news paper. just IMO.
