I've been hearing alot about them and after googling it, it still didn't really help me understand. I have a nice blog theme done, coded in css and xhtml/html all by me. I've seen most blog templates (like mine) have something to do with wordpress.
First, what exactly is wordpress? Two, how do I make my blog template integratable with it or w/e?

I know how nooby I must seem right now, lol. Any help is appreciated.

The best place to go to read about Wordpress is their own website, Wordpress.org; You can also check out their Wordpress Codex which has everything and anything about Wordpress (from creating themes, to template tags, to plugins.)

You can also visit other sites that are geared specifically towards Wordpress Design/themes: wpdesigner.com, themes.wordpress.net.

I've never used it, but it seems popular.

Try downloading one of the free themes to see how it works, and make your code look like that. I think WordPress is free and/or open source, so it probably runs PHP. You can download the software to test your theme conversion.

WordPress is, undoubtedly, a very useful blogging platform. However, it's not for everyone. Free (and in some ways better and in others worse), include ExpressionEngine, Blogger, TextPattern and Nucleus.

I found using Wordpress easier to theme/template, then Textpattern. Though I only gave textpattern a few hours to play around with, but I just did not like their proprietary functions (probably because I didn't know them off hand.)

WP rocks!

A template is actually a bunch of files. Some of them have to be given particular names, like sidebar.php and style.css, and then there's a subfolder for images, that you can do whatever you'd like with. To convert your template to a WP one, you need to break it up into the appropriate pieces.

It is a very great system , I really can't believe they have this kind of system for free. But am very glad that they do.
