I am interested in furthering my education in web design using an online university. There are soooo many schools all stating they are the best. Does anyone have any suggestions.
I am leaning towards International Academy of Design and Technology
Any suggestions?

I am looking for an online school too. I am going to a traditional university right now and am getting a BA in General Studies with a Minor in Business Administration. I would rather get a degree in Web Design, but you cant find those types of schools around here.
I took a look at this and it looks like a cool school, but insanely expensive. It costs $385 per credit hour. And an Associates requires 90 credit hours....thats over $34,000 for the program...not including books and software....eeek!

Unfortunately, the price you quoted is the average for the ones I looked into, and I have been looking into a lot of them.
Something I did discover was problems with accreditation with these schools. A majority of them have an accreditation in something other than the regional accreditation which means if you need to transfer credits, its not happening. I also found a few horror stories about the school I posted a link too. A gentleman had a 3.5 GPA and they still would not give him his degree, funding was dropped off and on throughout his education, they even decided mid through he needed a cosigner, then when he was unable to find one, they decided to go ahead and continue funding him. (<<<Sounds pretty fishy.)
He walked away without a degree and $110,000 in debt. I really like the school though, I wish I knew someone would had received training through them. People bashing something may have left out some important details. Hopefully someone can give the both of us some needed insight.

I haven't been to a web design school, and I wouldn't want to. I've seen people that graduate from these schools, and their heads are shoved so far up their asses they can see what they had for breakfast.

Your best bet is to pick it up by yourself. There's enough info out there to do so, and you don't need to spend 5-6 digits either.

I'm curious, what sort of proffesion does general studies support you for? I have never heard of it, but it sounds very vague!

W3S is what I have been using for training. They are great, and you can get a certificate from them. I want a degree though. I finally, after way too many phone calls and emails from these schools, have made a choice. I am going to Baker College
I discovered they are spotlighted by W3S as well.

Stephanie you might want to look into them, they are regionally accredited and not nearly as expensive. My second choice and it is closer to you is South University.

Good Luck!

I wouldn't suggest getting your degree from an online school. There are TONS of physical colleges and universities that offer degrees in web design. It would be a lot better for you...since they can take you head-on to teach you things.

Actually, both of those schools are physical colleges, regionally accredited. They just offer various degrees online as well. Your diploma does not say anything about it being online. I went to a physical school for networking. I was a bit disappointed. I do not enjoy having other students waste the time I paid for as well. With online classes you can browse through questions passing over ones that you are not interested in. I also do not enjoy listening to hours of lectures covering everything we just read in the book. I CAN READ! lol. I took an online security course a couple of years ago, it was great. I am hoping this will be good as well. Attending courses at a physical college just is not even an option, due to lack of time flexibility. That could be different a couple of years from now though, which is why I chose Baker. The credits will transfer easily.

Try schools in California or Junior colleges they usually put design in a class called computer multimedia and applications.
