I've started other threads to praise people who deserve it - the last one was in the html forum for LadyNRed, who's taught me a lot of what I know about real html, and always there to point a n00b in the right direction. She's a wonderful asset to the community.
But so is Republican. He's always there to help, tends to give really good advice in the coding forums, doesn't mix people up with bad advice, and he's a lot better than me about staying professional and not letting his personal views get in the way of being a valued member here. Heck, I wish that guy in Russia that threw a dud grenade at President Bush had succeeded, and even as extreme as that is, Republican has still given me so much help I owe him a debt of gratitude. And let's be honest, I can be abrasive at times, I don't try, but for him to put that aside and help me out anyway says a lot. Even cooler, he's there to give out good advice to anyone who needs it.
Don't want to sound tacky, but there's been a problem brewing in these forums, and Republican put an end to it yesterday. Just simply because it was the right thing to do. Most people know what I'm talking about.
So everyone please reply to this message and say something positive about Republican. He's always there to lend a hand because he's a good person, but let's all let him know that we appreciate it.
Hip hip hurray, for he's a jolly good fellow.

That's actually what prompted me to start this thread. I know on a lot of forums nobody ever gets banned for anything, 'cause the owner is afraid of bad press, or they don't want to loose someone who might click an ad.
And here Republican banned him for the good of the community. The guy wasn't just an annoying prick, he was actually telling people to spam to raise their PR. The type of "vulnerable" people who are looking for advice, and probably don't know not to trust Vasectomy.
If everyone followed R's example and did what's right instead of what's easy, the world would be a better place.

Thanks for the kind words but I still wish it never had to happen. We all tried so much to steer him back on course but he just got worse and worse.
The owner is on vacation yet so I don't know how he will react. I made a unilateral decision (hey, why would I call myself Republikin if I didn't make unilateral decisions right) and I hope it was the right one in the eyes of Tim.
So, now that I have a following I guess it's the only appropriate thing to do (being uber conservative and all) to exploit you all and make you drink poison (after the checks clear of course).

Yes I know, it's fashionable to hate republicans however, I bet you didn't know that I'm not actually a Republican. I just got really tired one day of people just hating Republicans without really thinking what they truly dislike. They seem to think it is Republicans but most of the time, its actually their Father they hate so much (OK, just a little joke). In all honesty I'm registered with no party affiliation (not even independent) and although I used to be pretty lock step I am not anymore nor have I been for years. I picked this name just to irritate the type of people who would reduce a person to their political leanings.

Political parties are like sports teams. Anything I do will have no real effect on how they behave or which of them wins. And my life won't be significantly different under one or the other. I still go out and vote my conscience, and I try to stay informed, but what a person does in life is a lot more important than what box they checked when they registered to vote. I'm not listed under any party affiliation either; the only benefit is voting in the primary, and the candidate on each side is decided by who can raise the most money. So I do what I can, and try to concentrate on things that affect me more directly.
But as far as this thread goes, Republikin gets my vote, too, especially considering the spam master who just got 86'ed.

I'm Not a fan of Democrats either..but they are lesser of the two evils in my opinion. I am not registered either, but I consider myself progressive if anything. Its also worth it to note that most of the "conservatives" in America to very little conserving and the "republicans" hardly fit into the text-book poli-sci definition.
Oh, and I didn't assume Republikin was affiliated with any party, I was playing off of the name itself.

I've stopped following politics. I pay attention to important issues, and policy that's going to change peoples' lives, but Dems vs Reps is a football game. There are some great Republicans, as midevil as they try to make Brownback seem, he's been pushing harder than anyone in our government to end the genocide in Darfur. The same goes with Dems; I won't let anybody say a negative word about Mario Cuomo. In High School, I saw him giving a speech, and he was famous for a divisive issue I was doing a report that had a big impact on my grade. I ran up and talked to him at intermission, told him most of my family is extremist Republican and that they all love him for being the Italian that made it, told him about my high school project, and he gave me two hours of his time, with an interview on camera. At the time, he was charging a quarter million dollars for what I got, and I lived in the state next door, couldn't even vote for him. But the Democrats have stopped being the party of the people; now they're the party of when the people are fed up with Republicans. So I don't spend my time watching the petty details and getting frustrated.
Of course, the member here you're giving praise to is Republikin. I don't think that's a typo. I hate it when people think I'm a gung-ho liberal in birkenstocks and pirating Michael Moore movies, with a girlfriend who doesn't shave her arm pits. We probably shouldn't type cast Republikin as something he's not. I think some of our social/financial priorities need to be adjusted, but that doesn't mean I don't shower every day. I think even if Dave doesn't want to see Bush impeached, and I don't know his views on that, but whatever they are doesn't mean he drinks puppy blood. I just think people need to stop judging each other's moral character on their political affiliation.
