Hi guys! I designed a web page with a page loader, I found it interesting because when you load a page, images load one after the other, and while the style sheet loads, the page is rendered funny. Please have a look at my web site and tell me if you like it better with the page loader the way it is, or if you think it's better without

Yep, and hiding the process of loading and rendering the page until it's fully loaded and good-looking

I get a blank white page. I closed the tab and tried again, and now there's a background image that looks like a close up of a button-down shirt someone is wearing. I gave it a few minutes, and that's what I get.

Hum... Strange, there should be a blog. Does your browser report javascript errors?

I have that turned off on all but a few sites. I'm using an older, slower computer, and the script debugger is resource hungry. On my third visit to check, though, a blog loaded. I can't imagine what that's about. Are you spawning a new thread to do your loading? What happens if a background thread throws an exception?

I'm running FireFox 2, if that helps you to know. I can't recommend FireBug enough, especially on a modern box.

Cool! It's a blog on PC-BSD. What do you mean by "new thread"? I don't know how to use threads in Javascript

Anyway, I'm using Opera here, and in the debug console I don't see any JS error. I'm goin to try in other browsers to double-check. So you don't see a loading screen like in Gmail?

If you have a loader I recommend only loading key images etc that you will place on every page, but when you make your main page a loader with video it can lower your google page rank trust me I tried this they gave me a zero because there was no content on the main page but there was a video.
It has taken me months to get my rank backup to a PR2 so this is a bad Idea.

No, my loader is 100% javascript, so Googlebot discarts it, and I'm not including any video, it just reads "Loading...". Do you see the loading screen?
