I'm looking for a good program to track the time I spend on specific tasks while I am working on a project. Preferably something that has an easy to use interface and something that will work for a PC and a Mac (I will be making a switch within the next 3 months). Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking an egg timer and a pad of paper....but I think this Freshbooks thing seems pretty sweet.

You might want to check out Zoho's Projects (http://projects.zoho.com/jsp/home.jsp) which includes time tracking with project management tools.

If you are taking on too many job you would need software for tracking. However, a good web designer should be able to delegate in his head where he is at on a site and only do as many sites as he can handle to offer better customer service. Just seems logical.

I'm not taking on too many "job" (who are you yoda?) Knowing not to take on more work than you can handle isn't indicative of a good designer, it's indicative of a good business person. And it's not just about customer service, it's more about staying within the confines of your contract. That being said...The purpose of the sofware I mentioned was to keep track of the time I spent so I could get a feel of how long it typically takes for me to complete a job. Thanks for the help (or no help in this case).

BTW angele803...The egg timer idea seems to be the best way to go. I just created a spreadsheet to keep record of the time after writing it down. Sometimes simple is the best way to go. Thanks for your help as well as the others that offered it!
