Hi,
im wondering how webrefrences are viewed for jobs?. like im in uk, and stuff, u would get refrence from old employer or someone worked with so could u get one from someone you work with via web and would it be as good?...

An email might work if it comes from a company domain name and contact info is included. Emails from Yahoo or gmail addresses might not look very credible. Anyone could set up one of these accounts and pretend to be a good reference for you.

I would say an email would probably not be enough. Provide a phone number if at all possible....it's a lot tougher to fake a phone call than an email. A reference that's being called would have to come up with answers on the fly, as opposed to having the time to craft an email.

Having said that, a web reference would be fine, I would think.
