What is the oddest thing that has ever happend to you or someone you know?
I'll start with two odd ones.
1. When I was 9 years old, I had a dream about my grandfather sitting on his favorite chair. He waved to me, smiled, and said goodbye. The next morning my mother received a phone call that my grandfather has passed away. I told my mother about my dream and she said she had a dream about him as well that same night, in his favorite chair.
2. My father's brother "John" who I am named after, faught in the Vietnam war. When he returned, he was murdered a few months later by a motorcycle gang member who was trying to kill his roomate and killed him by mistake. My uncle loved his Harley Davidson Motorcyle and rode it quite often. Weeks after the trial and conviction of my uncles murderer, my father, who was a police officer, saw a man who looked like his brother speed through a red traffic light on a Harley Davidson motorcycle while waving happily. My father turned in persute, lights flashing and sirens blasting. My father lost sight of him for a moment when the road curved, and then "speeder" was gone.
These are true stories, and yes...odd.

cool stories!
I had a "psychic" experience once. Well, these things happen to me often, but this one was really vivid. I was driving to the doctor's office and all of the sudden this image flashed really strong in my mind. It was an image of the front of my doctor's office with this reallly distinct red van parked out front and it was the only car there. When I got to the doctor's office, the front looked exactly as it did in my "vision", weird red van and all.

Before I was married I had a dream that I would soon meet my future wife and we would have three daughters. I was told specifically by the narrator (God?) that their names were to be Faith, Hope and Charity and that together they will do much good.
So far, we have had both Charity and Faith. The odd thing is I am the only man in my complete family line, on my Fathers side going back to 1753 (yes we have great records), to not have a boy as my first child.

Well. that has some scientific explanation, when you and your next of kin or a person spend much time together you both will have closer brainwave frequency, and when something big or special happens, there will be a fluctuation in the person's brainwave sent to you. And you will know that something is happening to him even you don't see it.

If your an animal lover this tale will move you. I never met this mut personally (a good decade before my time there) but there were plenty like him and all just as corageous.
RATS
Rats, a brown and white little mongrel, was known as the soldier dog of Ulster. His active service days were spent in Crossmaglen in Northern Ireland. He spent his duty time in the front line and was injured more than once. He was blown up, run over and shot at many times. Rats was welcome company when the troops had to go out on a mission and became a trusted 'nose' for potential danger. He went with them on day and night manoeuvres, flew in helicopter missions and was no stranger to front line action.
His injuries included a broken leg, gunshot injuries and shrapnel in his spine. On top of that, Rats made enemies amongst IRA supporters' as he was the troops mascot and helped boost morale when it was most needed. This made him a potential IRA target.
Rats became well known amongst the serving soldiers. There were many times when he warned a patrol that something was amiss and as a result saved a few lives. The BBC did a documentary on him and told of his devotion to the troops. A book written by Max Halstock tells of the courage and bravery of this little dog. It also points out that Rats went through many difficult times in his life when the regiments changed over, once their tour of duty was over. This meant that Rats lost the men he had become attached to more than once; something the little dog could never understand. There must have been times when he was very sad and confused.
Rats was held in such high esteem by the troops that he was given an army number. This was put on a medal made from a dog disc. It had the Queen's head on one side and 'Rats. Delta 777' on the other. Rats received the medal during a ceremony when the whole Company was on parade and a piper played 'Scotland the Brave', in his honour.
Rats had developed a close relationship with Corporal O'Neil of the Queen's Own Highlanders. He looked after him but the tour of duty came to and end and Corporal O'Neil had to leave Crossmaglen. The regiment that replaced the Queen's Own Highlanders was the Prince of Wales Company, 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards. All the comrades that Rats had grown close to were going to leave. Corporal O'Neil was not allowed to take Rats home with him. It was a sad parting for them both. Rats had to find new friends amongst the new soldiers. In time he became close to Corporal Lewis of the Welsh Guards.
Rats continued his tour of duty, being a mascot and a great moral booster for the troops. Later he was retired to a secret location in the UK. Secret because the army wanted to be sure that the IRA did not target Rats in an attempt to demoralise the men. He had meant so much to them and had been a welcome diversion and help through such difficult times. Rats had a happy retirement and still holds a special place in the soldier's memories of duty in Northern Ireland.

I've got so many "strange" stories that I really wouldn't know where to begin. But I figured out one anyway....
I went hunting with my brother in a place that neither of us had been before that day. I walked down into a hollow and seemed to recognize the place; the ol' deja vu thing. I recognized an old tree that should have a picnic table there and when I walked over to it, there was a very old, and almost rotten, picnic table. It was breaking down and vines growing on it, but it was there. Sitting on the edge of the picnic table was my wedding band that I had lost a year or so before that time. It had to be mine because it fit and it had my initials on the inside.
I certainly don't know how that happened, but it was nice to have my gold band back. It was a very successful hunt.

So my good friend Josh and I go to this party at a university housing complex. When we get there we pull into the complex, we park, and go in, no problem right? or at least that’s what we thought. What we did not know is that this complex has a very strict parking policy and all visitors had to park in a designated place or you will be towed; only we had no idea. Not only did our friends not tell us this bit of information, but the only sign that mentioned this was in the very front and covered up by a bush. So were at the party and I step outside with someone to have a smoke, and as were talking, drinking, and smoking on the balcony I look down at the parking lot to see my friend’s car being hooked up to a tow truck. Now bear in mind that this happened while I was at college and I used to partake in activates such as “Lucy in the sky with diamonds” if you know what I mean and one could say that I was half in a bag, three sheets to the wind, so to speak, and when I saw this it took me a little while to realize that this was actually happing and I better do something. So I ran back in the house, and called out to my friend “Hey buddy I think someone is towing your car.” And his exact response was “Hey that’s a great idea, we should open a ice cream bar.” Immediately followed by “S*#T did you say someone was towing my car?! We have to do something and I mean now! So we pondered on that for a little while and then jumped up to go stop the guy. We got out side just in time to see my friends car being towed away. We flew down the flight of stairs as fast as we could and took off running. On a side note as we were running, I begin to see all kinds of flowers and trees blooming all around and soon we were running in an enchanted forest filled with angry woodland creatures and I begin to run all the faster. I finally stopped running about 2 miles down the road, my friend or the tow truck was no where in sight, but I became some what conscious of reality again so I began to walk back to the complex. When I arrived back at apartments, I saw Josh sitting at the entrance, “He took my car, the son of a bi*#h, took my car, were did you go?” I felt that it was best that we did not go into that right now and we began to walk back. When we got back our friends began to tell us that we were screwed and that seeing how the car was in his parents name and not his, he could not get it back, his parents, who live 10 hours away, would have to get it back, and all the while it would accumulate a bigger bill. So I tried to comfort my friend who I did not want to have a bad trip, by telling him that we would go to the towing company tomorrow and find a way to get it back. So bright and early at 6 o’clock still dazed from the night before, we hitched a ride to the towing company. When we got there my friend found someone and began to plead his case and the guy laughed at us and said call his parents and gets them on the next flight to Florida. As we are there trying to figure out what we are going to do we met these two middle aged ladies. We told them our story and they told us how these guys towed their car from their own apartments, and they we’re suing these guys, but were picking up their car for now. As they paid I watched as they got a receipt and took it across the street were the impound lot was, they gave the guy at the gate the receipt he looked at it and she went in to get her car. I had an idea. We waved the nice ladies down and took a shot and asked “do you mind if we make a copy of that receipt so we can get our car back?” To our surprise they were more than egger to help, in fact they had an office building down the street were they took us and we made an exact replica of the one they had, only with all of Josh’s’ information. The ladies dropped us off around the corner and we thanked them and got out to execute our plan. I elected to go, since Josh had made kind of a scene before and thought they might not suspect me. So I nervously went to the gate showed the guy the fake receipt all the while my stomach was doing all kind of crazy things, but to my relief he showed me where the car was I got in breathed a sigh of relief and drove out waving at the man on the way out.

It's hardly very strange, but today during a programming lesson at college, I decided I would add a history section to my calculator and then the tutor saw it and was really surprised. He asked me if I'd seen his notes and presentation because the very next slide was an extension task - adding a history list box to your calculator Haha
