OK, I know how TP works and all, and I realise that your reputation determines how much your approval is worth to another member. I was just wondering, does this amount depend on post count or your OWN talkupation value?

Both, actually...it goes up 1 for every 100 posts and 1 for every level you go up in TP value (I think that's the formula.)

What does red Talkupation means? and how do you rate us using this?

Red talkupation means that other members have voted against you because you have posted something that you probably shouldn't have. I often add "disapproval talkupation" to those members who post spam all over the forums (don't get me started on that!). At the moment, you've got a fairly large red talkupation so a member (or members) have voted against what you have written somewhere.

If you are thinking all of this is unfair, the moderators and admins check who's giving talkupation to who (they say they are anyway) so you probably made a insulting comment or a spammy one somewhere

Oh I forgot to say - you can use talkupation by clicking "Add to my talkupation" next to a member's post. You then choose whether to approve or disapprove of the post. I don't think member's with less than 10 talkupation points can add talkupation to anyone's posts (I'm just the messenger)

The Talkupation is a great idea, I have left about 2-3 positives on posts that I thought were above average and I am always greeted with the "May you be lucky enough to receive the same Talkupation rating in return" that was kind of cute. Then as I was browsing my favorite topics I found one member who had created an account apparently to go in and spam for his telemarketing website and for the first time I left negative Talkupation, and was greeted with..... "May you be lucky enough to receive the same Talkupation rating in return"

Oh noes!

Maybe change it up if you leave negative Talkupation to say something along the lines of "May this vulgar poster or spammer be doomed to a 56k connection for the rest of their days" or something along those lines
