First let me say hi my name is Tim. So with that out of the way I will post what I came here for.

I had an epiphany while driving one day and came up with a great idea for my first website. I wont go into much details as I don't wan't to leak my idea just yet. However I am a grease monkey by trade and the only thing I do with a computer is game and browse, so writing a script and finding a server to hold traffic is not gonna be my strong point. I do feel I could get the word out and get traffic just to see if the idea works.

Well anyways P2P networking sites are huge right now and I think I thought of a great idea. So my question you the community is how do I go about getting a script made with a very small budget? I would like to see about getting a script made and putting it up on my site to make it functional and then get a small amount of traffic to see if it is worth putting more effort into it.

So if you can help me out with some answers please do and if you need more information feel free to ask!!

There's a ton of free scripts available online -- maybe you could find one that suits your needs. Just do a search for whatever the topic is and add free script -- or something like that. Or did you need something specific written for you? (Then maybe go to the programmers section)

Now I just need to figure out how to upload it to my FTP and then modify all the pages to say what I want them to say. I think I can figure that out piece by piece if someone can tell me how to get it uploaded to my FTP. (Which file go to it) I am using Filezilla and Microsoft Visual web developer express edition 2005 for editing.

Sorry if I seem so new at this, I plan on reading some books and taking some courses but I kinda like to dive straight into things and try to figure them out right away.

You need to use a program like WS FTP or CuteFTP to connect to your server, upload files, and change permissions etc to setup the script. Let me know if you need some help doing it. Maybe I can help.

Trying to send you a PM (Need 5 posts first), I have used Filezilla to upload the files but the website is not displaying. So I am wondering if I sent wrong files or what else I need to do to setup the script. I have a Ventrilo server to use if you wanna talk me through it, or let me know what you want to do.

Nevermind I am scrapping that I need a custom script made I got ideas, so whos got a person or company that does a custom order for a good price?
