Just being part of the forums, it's incredible how the vast majority of users (I believe) are men. Where are the female webmasters?

I think us guys are more attracted by technology than females - enough that more of us would want a career in it.

Yeah, we're way nerdier than women are.
Mind you, I tend to agree with you, whym. I tried writing a blog post on women in web design who are making a difference in web design and succeeded...but only with Steven's help. There just aren't that many.

Isn't everyone here forgetting LadyNRed?
I think in the past tech was a male dominated world and I suppose it still is, but I think that's changing and some of the best webmasters and IT people I've known have been women. I do think women are closing the gap and I hope that continues.
Maybe the women are smart enough to actually work instead of spending all day on forums.

NO! we have a good excuse to be on here! i have learnt loads from people and doing things because of the help i have got from wmt.
and the people who already know it all and are pros need to be here to help ME! - and who said i thought the world revloves around me..
XD
actually i have to say differantly. while yes it seems that the majority is male. i was/am REALLY suprised how many women are doing it. i think for me its probally at least on a 40/60 scale maybe more.
[sarcatic comment which i couldnt be botherd to think of because i dont have enough time goes here... you lot laugh and be amazed at how incredibly witty i am.]

I'm around too, but with working full time, two teenage kids, my own business, hubby's business, learning to drive a motorcycle and other family stuff I haven't had time lately to do much more than moderate and read a few posts here. I get about an hour a day to spend here and with how much junk gets posted in a few of the forums I moderate I'm lucky if I get to weed it out in that time.
LadyNRed and Angele803 are very good and quite active around here. TechWench is around when her time permits and used to be a moderator. While I agree the industry is more male than female, there are quite a few very good female webmasters representing us.

Women are too busy recreating life and making sandwiches to mess with something as mundane as code.

Too busy coding, answering questions from co-workers & paying the bills to worry about making sandwiches and my days of recreating life were done 13 years ago.

They are hard to come by or I would probably have a female friend who is a webmaster.

I've mostly been lurking lately, not posting much so it's easy to forget I'm still around . On top of everything else that usually keeps me busy I moved (for the first time in 12 years) in July and we just got a dog. July zoomed by in like one day for me!
I don't know how you forgot Stephanie though!
