Ok, I appreciate that I'm new here, and I may be going over old ground, but can someone explain something to me?
What is this whole Talkupation thing?
I see loads of people asking for other people to give them talkupation, but aside from bumping up a meter on their profile, what's the point? What does it actually do?

Dan it really doesn't do anything. It's more of a fun thing many forums use. Some forums will give it out to anyone and the system becomes meaningless. We try to be a bit more selective in how much we give out here so more helpful members will typically have more talkupation.

It'll never be a perfect system since longevity on the forum will also contribute a lot to how much TP you have.

Some people think it's more important than others and will ask or even beg for it. the best way to get it is to help other members and answer their questions as best as you can. Humor works well too.

TP doesn't actually do anything, but it is a way to say thanks when someone helps you and to show appreciation for the time they took to help.
