I'll go first: I was having problems with png files that had transparency and Internet Explorer 6. I found this place through Google, asked a question in the html forum, didn't notice the subscribe feature, so I came back a few times over the next few days. Got plenty of good advice about the question I was asking about, and about things I needed to know, but didn't know to ask about.

Since then, I've probably doubled my knowledge about the web as a platform to build for, and it's benefited me directly in my 9-5 job. I'm still picking up as much as I can from the real experts - notice they don't call themselves that - here, like a sponge, and yet I've shown developers, marketing, and testers how to do things they thought were impossible. I'm still here even after my question was answered, to pick up as much knowledge as I can, and also to give back to the community by helping people.

So ... how did you find this site, and why do you stick around?

Well ages ago, I set up my first site (I'm 16) and I came here to chat to other webmasters - the site was made in Freewebs WYSIWYG editor - not very advanced.

A lot time passed and I only came once every 3 or 4 months. Then when I set up my hosting company, I started visiting again first for promotion but then just for enjoyment (and because it's addictive

I found this site through a Google search for webmaster forums

What made me stick around was ... reading some opinions of characters on this site. Funny stuff

I find here by Google, I major in chemistry while now working in web hosting company I can learn a lot here, that's why I stick around.

Mine was many years ago when I was searching for webmaster forums. I used to visit every couple of months, until I forgot about this place. It wasn't until I couple of months ago I found it again when I was searching Google. After that I decided to stick around about it is addictive.

Ditto... i was getting a bit bored with other forums, such as sitepoint because they were too big, and others seem not to communicate with members under 20 that politely...plus this one has a pretty design....!!

I work at a catalog company that does most of its business online, and people have been shocked at what I've learned here. This is a great place.

I find this forum thru one of my friend as well....
I also find this forum so neat and nice to look at...I mean the design is simple and easy on the eyes..I think I'd still stick here more than the other forums I know.

I was just looking for a forum that offered Adsense revenue sharing. It turned out that this place was better than any of the other forums I've been to...and I was able to launch anti-spammer initiatives with less fear of reprisal (and a lot more support...some people are even starting to copy me, but I'm cool with that.)

I enjoy creating SEO friendly web sites and wanted to round out my skill set in some CSS + PHP/MySQL. Joining this forum was a great decision. I'm able to offer the occasional tip but I definitely receive more than I give due to the high level of expertise the Moderators (and a few renegades like Adam AKA TP Penmeister) provide.

I honestly don't remember how I've found this place.

The first thing I've noticed, was that for the few questions people had asked, they had got very precise and correct answers.
I never used a forum before, except to find 1 info through a google search. Never bothered to register to almost anything, or just to access 1 precise info and never to come back.

As said before, there is a certain level of "friendlyness" on this board, that makes the exchanges really entertaining, and totally worth the time passed here.
Hey, I even check wmt before my emails, on morning. That says a lot just by itself.

I've learned almost everything I know with open-source softwares, and I adhere to it's mentality, even if I don't enforce it.
And I consider that knowledge is bound to be forwarded.
That's the main reason I'm lurking through the db/js/php/coding forums, trying to help with whatever I can.

And 'in fine', I've learned a lot too from other members here.

Thanks to ladyNred (Ladies first!), Chris, Adam, Republikin, Forest, learningNewbie, MrGraphic, JeremyMiller and so many more that it would be too long to name them all.

Because information is power. But it's like the paradox of dieing of thirst on a raft on the ocean. We're drowning in data, and need Google to process it into useful information.

Even before I had a web site of my own, I wanted to know about this SEO business so I could avoid getting fooled by it. I read a book once on graphs, since they're everywhere, to learn how people cheat or lie using graphs so I would recognize a weak argument when I saw one.

I was just looking for a forum that dealt with webmaster and seo issues. I probably typed 'webmaster forum' into Google and checked out a few. WT had one of the more active communities and was one of the two I joined.

Once here I liked the other people who were here too and started spending more and more of my time here.

I was talking to one of my friends one day and I told him and I quote “I think it would be fun to build a website.” And to that my witty friend William replied, “Website’s aye, well that’s not exactly my cup of tea, but you seem like a nice kid I’ll throw you a bone; when I was trying to remodel my house I found a nice little forum that helped me out, maybe there is one out there for websites, now let’s go get ourselves a soda down at Wally’s Food and Drug store. So to make a really long story short I did what my friend William had suggested and this was the first one I came across.
