I ran across this article today and thought I would share it.
Many parents now get domain names for kids to young to type...

I am just curious if anyone has thought about doing something like this for their children or potential children, or have already done so. I found it so strange that people would do this. With all the effort put into trying to protect privacy it is interesting how some people are doing the complete opposite. I haven't yet formed an opinion on this one, other than my initial reaction of, "Are you people crazy?" I must admit though, they have some good points in doing so. So, what are all of your thoughts?

I think births are public record, maybe even published in the newspaper in smaller communities? As long as the parents don't put anything personally identifying on the domain ... and probably use the privacy shield their registrar provides, they aren't giving anything up.

Odd as it may sound, there's another professional photographer with my legal name: Forrest Croce. I'm lucky I beat the guy to the .com version of the domain. As the population grows and a lot of us have pretty common names, that could be a growing problem.

On the other hand, you really shouldn't buy a domain until you have something to do with it.

Ahh, great to have an odd spelling and an uncommon middle name. XD

Though I think this is probably going to be an expanding trend.
