I'm asking if this is at all possible so I can make sure the people that do click my ads, aren't all coming from a similar IP.

Also wanted to make sure I'm not generating any Fraudulent clicks, and risk getting banned from their Adsense program. Or whether my clicks I'm generating are truly organic.

I haven't found any tools on Google that does this for you, and I'm not sure how "reliable" some third-party scripts may be.

My lame attempt at an answer:...it would be tricky. If you grab the IP and then track where the person clicks using a sort of heat map (site overlay?) you may be able to see how many people are making multiple clicks in the area where the google ads appear...

A guru like Chrishurst will have a lot better handle on this than me but this is what came to mind when I read your questions.

I have used a script named "adlogger" [ http://www.adlogger.org/ ]
It have been discontinued because:
Quote:
Unfortunately the development of AdLogger has been put to a halt. Due to some recent changes in the Google AdSense program, AdLogger has been rendered inaccurate and useless. Despite the best efforts to circumvent these changes and maintain a high level of accuracy, our developers could not come up with a solution.
Even when it was active, It had the problem that it catched any clicks, even right mouse button click anywhere over the ads.
So, it could record "invalid" clicks.

The main problem I've seen when I tried to develop it myself, is that the browser don't let you catch a click event over an iframe.
I spent a week trying to overcome it, but I could not catch any click over the ads.

The adlogger team recommand to use clickAider [ http://clickaider.com/ ] as an alternative, which looks like in beta state for now, and freely usable.

It's certainly possible.

First thoughts would be to have a parent container for the Adsense code and attach an "onClick" event triggering an AJAX function.

But as Thierry points out, catching clicks over iFrames is near impossible

The script probably used the onMouseDown / Up which doesn't distinguish between buttons, whereas the onClick event is only triggered on the left button only (or the right if the mouse is set for left handed use).

It might make for an interesting project at some time

I think I tried that, but the problem was that if the click happened over the iframe, the event wasn't propagated to the iframe's container.

But I agree that this would be an interesting side project
