At the moment it is underneath each post. I don't know whether a cluster of ads all together at the top or down the side would be better, rather than ones by theirselves, scattered.
What do you think?

Crazy Ideas - That actually work...
Inside the content is always good. I'm fixing to try that out.
I was about to say that. Inside the content is perfect. But also try placing them as sponsors and make sure it's framed like Cheaterz.net ( on the right "Support us")
2. Put the ads in places were your readers can actually see them
Place a rectangle or banner within the posting. Place banners at the end of a posting. And finally, place ads just above the comments box.

I am confused about this. Isn't this against Google's program policies?
Incentives
Web pages may not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. This includes encouraging users to click on the ads or to visit the advertisers' sites as well as drawing any undue attention to the ads. For example, your site cannot contain phrases such as "click here," "support us," "visit these links," or other similar language that could apply to any ad, regardless of content. These activities are strictly prohibited in order to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs. In addition, publishers may not bring unnatural attention to sites displaying ads or referral buttons through unsolicited mass emails or unwanted advertisements on third-party websites. Publishers are also not permitted to use deceptive or unnatural means to draw attention to or incite clicks on referral buttons.

I didn't mean copy the "Support us" but I meant "Sponsors" is a good idea and also placing as Sponsors don't think will make your account a subject of extremination.
