I think it's a myth. I've talked to a lot of folks who make a lot of money with AdSense (as in over $1000 a day), both white hat and black hat, including arbitrage, and none of them ever got rich from the M word. I think the confusion rises from the fact that it was once the highest bid FOR SEARCH. Nobody ever came out and said "I had a mesothelioma AdSense site and I made $50 or even $5 per click". It just never happened.

I had a mesothelioma site early last year. It paid 5 cents per click on average. I'm still yet to find a person who'd say that they made any serious money with mesothelioma. Anybody on this site, perhaps?

Do you see that thing that just flew over your head? That was my point. Try and catch up with it

Sorry bud, didn't get what you are saying. Guessing from your MFA sites, you aren't using mesothelioma niche yourself. What makes you think that it's profitable at all? I tried it. It's totally worthless. My impression is that it's all talk.

I'm not talking about using meso* specifically, I'm talking about finding a profitable keyword and building your website around that niche. Just using meso as an example, not saying it was/is/ever will be profitable.

This sucks, 17 clicks on my myspace site and only $0.52. MySpace does not equal money lately for me.

I just started another music site though, and one click gave me the same amount of money.

Eh, I get about 20 cents a click or so, but not enough clicks. That will be fixed with a new layout, and better ad placement. But it's hard sometimes, sometimes nobody clicks my ads

OK, I got you. I've read that franchising is a very profitable niche at NicheGeek. Can anyone comment on that? I think I'll try it next week and see how it goes.

My experience is that unless a site has lot of traffic, talking about average from day to day does not make sense because the random factor is too dominant. There are also factors that you do not have control over. One day someone might click on a link that is $2 per click another day, another link is $0.02.

An idea maybe is to to plot a moving average and see how the trend works out...

Funny you mention that. I've got two articles discussing just that:

I launched my site yesterday and have made nada. I thought I'd get 3 or 4 clicks since I got a link from dealbreaker.com this morning. The positive thing is that the Google Analytics stats showed that most of my readers from dealbreaker were reading at work, the dominant profession being investment banking. They have money to spend.
