I'm trying to get my AdSense account out of smart pricing at the moment, and was curious if anyone knows what day of the week Google typically "reevaluates" smart pricing.

"Smart pricing is evaluated each week. So removing ads from sites you suspect are converting poorly could result in seeing an adjustment to a higher smart pricing percent in as little as a week."
I know that info is not really official, but hopefully is based on fact. Perhaps some people have done testing and discovered the day when their revenue returns to normal after trying something to escape from smart pricing.
I was just wondering so I could better track the results of various changes I make to my sites, and also minimize potential revenue losses from my testing (i.e. making a change right after a smart pricing evaluation, so I could build up a solid week of fresh stats for the next evaluation - instead of perhaps trying a change a few days before evaluation, and then having to wait through until the next one).
Anyhow, hope I'm making sense  Thanks very much if anyone has the answer.
I absolutely hate the way Google has implemented smart pricing (though I agree with the concept).... it ought to not affect an entire account, including all the ads that ARE getting good ROI for advertisers, just over some ads (even on a different site) not performing well. I'm trying to dig my way out of it so I can "understand" and improve on it before just switching to YPN - I don't want to just give up.... but it's getting hard (50% lower revenue). I want to maximize ROI for the advertisers, but Google gives me no tools or information to help me do that ( they say CTR, eCPM, etc are not what determines smart pricing). |
