Recently one of my sites got a huge traffic spike from StumbleUpon traffic. It only lasted for a day or two, but what I found interesting was for the next month (seriously - a month to the day) after the huge spike in traffic, my click throughs were well down below the average. One month and a day later and clicks were back up to normal levels.
So I was wondering, if google detects "cheating" do they send out really boring crap and/or low paying adverts to try and protect its advertisers? Maybe every other advert is a public service one?
Anyone come across this before? Seems like too much of a coincidence to me!
