I'm getting roughly a dollar per click on average - albeit in a busy and profitable niche.

Nice. May I ask what your niche is?

I write anti-spam plugins for popular blogging and forum software, plus advice and articles, all in plain-english.

I believe the answer is obvious; thousands of clicks.

Have you tried promoting your blog. Just by updating it will not bring the traffic. The reasons for this is because if you go to Jims blog with the updated information then you will see why.

Who is jims blog and how can I see the updated information. Well nobody will know that untill there is a link. So if you don't promote your blog or website the you will never receive traffic no matter how much you update it.

Good ways to get started would be to put your links in forum and email sigs like you probably already are doing.

Add your site to web directories

Do some SEO

Write articles and include your sites url in the resoure box

Etc...

How do people hijack publisher id's? And how can you prevent it or tell if they have done it?

I'm making more today via Google Adsense than I have in years, even though I've made very good money from Adsense on a regular basis. My niche seems to be well paid. My website poised well within the industry and full of unique content.

It seems that once a quarter a correction is made when my adsense earnings go down a bit. As I check the search indexes, I find some made for adsense websites attempting to gain what I've spent years to create. Google has little tolerance for such nonsense. Their goal seems to be to encourage the white hat webmaster who has good, unique content with benefits including page rank and adsense placements.

Its not perfect but it is still possible to generate very good revenue from Adsense. I do it with one domain.

I am at a safe point with my myspace sites now though. I am getting about 1 cent per click so if they decide to give me any less I won't be getting anything at all. So it is only uphill from where I am now.

Myspace sites are known for this, myspace key words do not pay well, and never will, depending on where you get your traffic from (key word density may effect rankings if your getting most of your visitors from SEs), delete all occurances of "myspace" from your site ^^
