I haven't used adsense for ages now, you used to be able to just create an add
pick the colours and use it where ever.

How do these adsense slots work?
Do i need to make a new one for ever single type of add, for every site?
(I really hope not!)

It's just that I noticed that accessing my site without the www. was enough to stop the adds from showing. I've added a redirect to solve this one.
