Google Adsense says: Google AdSense program policies allow you to place up to three ad units and three link units on any page.

But I have seen 4 ad units on one page, how?

for examples:

there is only one adsense unit on that page

Yes, there is only one adsense unit in the code...but what is that?, fake adsense ads?, other ads that looks exactly as an adsense unit, why?, to get more clicks based in google's name?, is that works?...is the first time I see it...
