Google will ban you for anything these days. It is a good income if you have TONS oF TRAFFIC and optimized ads, but the income stream is always one day away from being ripped away from you. Even if you follow the TOS of their site you still can find your ad account whipped away with a blink of an eye.
A lot of this is due to invalid click activity, and for the most part from people you don't even know, who just like to screw with the system and know that you could lose your account for invalid clicks if they target you and play a game. Or have some kid come in and click on every ad there is on your site.
So it's best to monetize with several streams, just to cover your butt in case Google targets your account and closes it. You don't want to be one of those people who relied heavily on this income and then have it disappear. Be smart and follow their TOS, but remember one bad apple can ruin it for you.
